How we approach it
The biggest problem with most web3 products isn’t the blockchain — it’s everything around it. Seed phrases, gas fees, wallet pop-ups and jargon-filled interfaces drive away exactly the mainstream users these products need. Our web3 work starts from a simple standard: if your customers can use online banking, they should be able to use your dApp. We build the decentralised parts properly and hide the complexity behind interfaces that feel like ordinary, well-made software.
Technically, that means smart contracts integrated into a normal modern web stack — React and Next.js front ends talking to on-chain functionality through libraries like wagmi and viem, wallet authentication via WalletConnect alongside MetaMask and Coinbase Wallet, and increasingly embedded wallets with email or social sign-in so first-time users never see a seed phrase. Decentralised storage on IPFS handles the assets that genuinely need to outlive any single server; a conventional database handles everything that doesn’t.
That last point matters. Decentralisation is a property you pay for — in speed, cost and user friction — so it should only be applied where it earns its keep: ownership records, payments and transfers without an intermediary, assets that must survive your company. A hybrid architecture, on-chain where it counts and web2 everywhere else, is what most successful web3 products actually run on, and it’s what we build by default.
Security runs through all of it. On-chain code is developed with full test suites in Hardhat or Foundry and rehearsed on testnets before mainnet; front ends defend against the web3-specific attacks — malicious signature requests, address poisoning, phishing overlays — that conventional web development never has to think about. What’s the difference between web3 and blockchain development?
Blockchain development is the on-chain layer — smart contracts, tokens, the code that lives on networks like Ethereum. Web3 development is the whole product around it: the web app, wallet login, payments, storage and UX that let real customers use those on-chain features. We do both, but this service is about the product layer — making decentralised functionality usable by people who’ve never heard of gas fees.
Do my users need to own cryptocurrency to use a dApp?
Not necessarily, and for consumer products they usually shouldn’t have to. Embedded wallets let people sign up with an email address, gas sponsorship means your business can absorb transaction fees on their behalf, and fiat on-ramps let them pay by card. Done well, users get the benefits of on-chain ownership without ever knowingly touching crypto — which is usually the point.
When does decentralisation actually add value?
When users need ownership that doesn’t depend on trusting you: assets they can take elsewhere, records no one can quietly edit, payments and transfers without an intermediary taking a cut, or functionality that keeps working even if your company disappears. If none of those apply, decentralisation just adds cost and friction — and we’ll recommend a conventional build instead, because it will serve you better.
