Blockchain development for people who hate blockchain hype

We build smart contracts, NFT collections and token-gated experiences with the same engineering discipline we brought to Amazon and Ticketmaster — and if a normal database would serve you better, we’ll be the first to say so.

Blockchain & NFT

How we approach it

Blockchain projects have a credibility problem, and most of it is deserved. Too many were built to ride a trend rather than solve a problem, by teams who treated security as an afterthought. Our position is deliberately unfashionable: blockchain is a tool with specific strengths — shared state between parties who don’t trust each other, verifiable ownership, programmable transfers — and if your project doesn’t need those properties, we’ll tell you a database is the better answer before you spend a pound.

When the case does stack up, we build properly. Smart contracts are written in Solidity for EVM-compatible chains — Ethereum, Polygon, Base, Arbitrum — using battle-tested OpenZeppelin libraries rather than novel code where novelty adds risk. Everything is developed against comprehensive test suites in Hardhat or Foundry, deployed to testnets first, and put through an independent security review before any mainnet deployment, because contract bugs are bugs you cannot patch.

NFT work covers the whole stack, not just the token: ERC-721 or ERC-1155 contracts, metadata hosted properly on IPFS so it can’t vanish, minting sites that stay up under launch-day load, allowlists, royalties and secondary-market setup. Token-gated experiences — members’ content, event access, holder perks — get the same treatment, with wallet login that ordinary customers can actually use alongside a normal email fallback.

One honest caveat: UK regulation around cryptoassets is active and evolving, and the FCA treats some token structures very differently from others. We build with that landscape in mind and will flag when something you’re proposing looks like it needs professional advice — but we’re engineers, not solicitors, and we don’t give legal or financial advice. Projects are fixed-price, agreed upfront, starting with a free 30-minute scoping call.

What you get

Blockchain & NFT, done properly

Smart contract development

Solidity contracts for EVM chains, built on audited OpenZeppelin foundations with full test coverage in Hardhat or Foundry — because deployed contracts can’t be patched.

NFT collections & minting sites

ERC-721 and ERC-1155 collections with IPFS-hosted metadata, allowlist and royalty support, and minting front ends engineered to survive launch-day traffic.

Token-gated experiences

Members’ areas, content, event access and perks unlocked by token ownership — with wallet login smooth enough for customers who’ve never used web3.

Wallet integration

MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet and WalletConnect support wired into your existing site or app, with sensible fallbacks so non-crypto users aren’t locked out.

Security-first delivery

Testnet deployments, automated test suites, static analysis and independent review before anything touches mainnet. No exceptions, whatever the deadline.

Honest feasibility advice

Before building anything, we assess whether blockchain genuinely improves your product. If a conventional stack does the job cheaper and safer, we say so.

How it works

From first call to launch

  1. 01

    Feasibility

A free call to examine what you’re trying to achieve and whether blockchain is genuinely the right tool. If it isn’t, we’ll tell you and suggest what is.

  2. 02

    Design & specify

We specify the contracts, token standards, chain choice and user journeys in plain English, and agree a fixed price for the build.

  3. 03

    Build & test

Contracts and front ends are built with full test suites and deployed to a testnet, where you can try the entire experience with free test tokens.

  4. 04

    Audit & launch

Security review, mainnet deployment, contract verification on Etherscan, and monitoring — plus a handover so you hold the keys, not us.

FAQ

Blockchain & NFT questions, answered

Do I actually need blockchain for my project?

Possibly not, and we’d rather tell you now than after you’ve paid for it. Blockchain earns its complexity when you need verifiable ownership, transfers between parties who don’t trust a middleman, or assets that outlive any single company. If you just need user accounts, records and payments, a conventional database is faster, cheaper and easier to run — and that’s what we’ll recommend.

Which blockchains do you build on?

Mostly EVM-compatible chains: Ethereum for maximum credibility and liquidity, and Polygon, Base or Arbitrum where lower transaction fees matter — which for consumer products they usually do. The choice depends on your users, fee tolerance and ecosystem needs, and we’ll set out the trade-offs in plain English before you commit to one.

How do you handle smart contract security?

Deployed contracts can’t be patched, so security is structural rather than a final checkbox. We build on audited OpenZeppelin libraries, write comprehensive automated tests in Hardhat or Foundry, run static analysis, deploy to testnets for real-world rehearsal, and arrange independent review before mainnet. For contracts holding significant value, we’ll recommend a formal third-party audit and factor it into the fixed quote.

What about UK regulation of cryptoassets and NFTs?

It’s a genuinely evolving area. The FCA regulates cryptoasset promotions and treats some token structures — particularly anything resembling an investment — very differently from, say, a digital collectible or membership pass. We design with that landscape in mind and will flag when your plans look like they need professional advice, but we’re engineers, not solicitors: nothing we provide is legal or financial advice.

How much does a blockchain or NFT project cost?

It varies widely with scope: a token-gated feature added to an existing site is a much smaller job than a full NFT collection with a custom contract, minting site and audit. Every project is quoted as a fixed price after a free 30-minute scoping call, with the audit and testnet phases included in the quote — not added later as surprises.
