Software for charities & non-profit
Charities are asked to look as professional as any brand while spending as little as possible on tech. We build donation-ready websites and supporter tools that respect the budget and put more of each donation to work.
What usually gets in the way
- ✕Websites that don’t make donating quick and obvious
- ✕Supporter and donation data spread across disconnected tools
- ✕Percentage fees on donation platforms taking a cut of giving
- ✕Limited budget and no in-house technical help
Working with charities & non-profit businesses
Charity websites have one job above all others: make giving effortless. That means a donate button visible on every page, a form that takes under a minute on a phone, and Gift Aid capture built into the flow rather than bolted on as an afterthought — because unclaimed Gift Aid is a 25% raise your charity is leaving on the table.
Fees deserve scrutiny too. The convenient donation platforms take a percentage of every gift, forever. Taking donations directly through Stripe on your own site costs a fraction of that, and the difference — often thousands a year for a modestly successful charity — goes to the cause instead of the platform.
The constraint we design for is that most charities run on volunteers and part-time staff, not an IT department. So everything is built to be run by non-technical people: updating pages, adding events, exporting donor lists for the newsletter. And if your organisation qualifies, we'll structure the work to fit a charity budget — say so, and we'll find a shape that works.
Common questions
- Can we take donations without a platform taking a percentage?
- Yes — donations through your own site via Stripe cost card-processing fees only (roughly 1.5–2%), versus the 5%+ effective cost of some platforms. Recurring gifts, one-offs and Gift Aid declarations all run through your own pages, and the donor data is yours.
- Does the site handle Gift Aid?
- The donation flow captures Gift Aid declarations and the details HMRC requires, and exports claims in a ready-to-submit format. For most charities this alone meaningfully increases income from existing donors.
- We have a tiny budget. Is this realistic?
- Often, yes. A focused donation-first site is deliberately scoped to be affordable, and we're open about adjusting how work is phased for registered charities. The wrong answer is a free template that quietly costs you donations every month.
